The other day, I saw this bird with such an enormous wingspan find a perch in the trees across the way. The light was terrible and even with the telephoto lens it was hard to really get a good shot. I waited for a long time out in the cold for it to fly away but it remained there for quite a while surveying the creek, longer than I could stand in the cold. Upon looking at the pictures now, I'm pretty sure this was a golden eagle, although I stand to be corrected by others with more expertise than I.
