Messier 93 is another open cluster in the constellation Puppis, although smaller and less impressive than
Messier 47. It is estimated to be over 100 million years old and is 3,600 light years from Earth, meaning the light from the stars in this photograph was produced by these stars at the height of the Bronze Age and the civilization of ancient Egypt. This was one of the last objects catalogued by Messier in 1781.
