Natural Weekends - The Roses Of Schenectady

I recently had to go the Schenectady, New York for a few days. Schenectady is a typical New England manufacturing town, still dominated by the huge GE factory, that is still trying to find its way forward as the industrial base collapsed over the last 30 or 40 years. GE's investment in a renewable energy center and the redevelopment of its riverfront are helping to revive the city, increasing its population since the turn of the century. It has a lovely old town, the Stockade, down by the Mohawk river, lovely wide boulevards, and its own Central Park, which includes a phenomenal rose garden.
