    Astronomy Adventure - Messier 6, The Butterfly Cluster

    Messier 6, also know as the Butterfly Cluster, is an open cluster in the constellation Scorpius. It's possible that this cluster was described by the first century astronomer Ptolemy at the same time he saw Messier 7, a similar naked-eye cluster just to the southeast of Messier 6.
